Hacking Tinder
By German Muhlenberg
Blake Jamieson is a former digital marketing employee who became world-renowned for having achieved "the world record number of matches" on Tinder. Blake was an ordinary bachelor who, when he signed up for Tinder, frustrated by the low number of matches he was getting, decided to apply all his marketing knowledge to his own profile on the application. In this way, he achieved 4000 matches. According to a study in 2005 by the psychology department of the University of Chicago, the Internet appears as the most used medium for dating, followed by the workplace and friends of friends in third place. Also in 2017 and 2018 Tinder was the most downloaded application worldwide. And it is worth noting that Tinder is just one of many apps out there. Moreover, contrary to the popular prejudice that these apps are only good for casual sex, in another study by the University of Chicago, statistically there is a 25% greater chance that a relationship will grow if people met virtually than if they met in the traditional way. Most researchers agree that this is probably because the web allows candidates to choose each other with more information available and on the basis of mutual affinities. Thus, dating apps are becoming increasingly relevant when it comes to meeting someone.
