Chapter One: Damian Michaels
Emily stepped into Green Bells hospital, it was quite easy for her to find Damian's office. She opened the door with ease, setting her gaze on the young, dashing doctor. She has been told Damian is one of the best cosmetic surgeons in Los Angeles but his physical appearance was left out.
“Doctor Damian, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” Emily said, stretching forth her hand for a handshake.
He shook her hand with an inviting smile. “Pleasure is all mine. Please have a seat. Tell me your name.”
“My name's Emily.”
“Great, so let’s dive into why you’re here.”
Damian was just too perfect, greater than average height and handsome, Emily thought to herself. He chose the wrong profession, he would have been a model because no other job would have fit his nice physic, and his face would have a passer-by look back twice.
Damian stopped talking seeing that Emily was lost in another world of hers.
In all his years as a doctor, this keeps on recurring, and most times they, just said the same words, “Are you free for coffee tomorrow evening?”
Damian wanted to, rejected because he is heavily sought after which makes him work, almost all the time but he said, “Your treat? I guess 10 sharp.”
Emily nodded.
Making out time for her was hard because of his busy schedule. However, he couldn’t remember the last time he’d been in a relationship, his work takes his the whole time and he hardly spends time with anyone else but himself, but this time he decides on making an exception.
Damian's relationship in the past has never lasted for more than three months, sometimes a week or weeks. He is looking for the one that will sweep me off my feet.
Emily chuckled. “What exactly are you looking for in a woman.”
“I can’t say. I’ll tell the right woman when I see one.”
“Okay...” Emily responded, biting her lips seductively. “Don’t you need a woman who can satisfy you in bed?”
“Yeah, I do but –“
Before he could finish talking, she stood up from her table, walked towards him, and placed a kiss on his lips.
Damian being resistant said, “We should take things a step at a time.”
“How about dinner at my place after work, we can get to know more about ourselves,” Emily said.
“That will be a good idea.” Damian nodded.
Damian was able to meet up for dinner at her place, seeing him made her smile because she was a little doubtful that he wouldn’t make it because of his busy schedule at work.
She walked towards him and planted a kiss on his cheeks and welcomed him. They both exchanged pleasantries and headed for the dining.
The evening was a welcoming one, full of life with the ambient light looming from the moon to complement the night as they sat outside after the meal, staring at the stars.
“They are beautiful aren’t they,” Damian asked.
“Yes, they are.”
After the long hours of discussion and laughter, the night was over.
Following their romantic time the previous evening, they both kicked off their relationship with series of texts, calls and the love he showed towards her was exceptionally great.
But Emily was distorted, asking herself if she wasn’t good enough to have given in to her sexual desires. It’s been two weeks but no physical intimacy has happened.
“Am sorry, I forgot to tell you that I’ll be coming home very late. So I got this while coming back.” Damian said.
“So nice of you.” She said coldly.
“Don’t you like it?”
“l do, but when are we going to have sex.”
With that question, without appreciating the gifts, he was sure she wasn’t the one even though he sensed it all along.
“All the time I spent with you, I wanted to feel something, I wanted to feel a spark but I didn’t feel anything, no connection, I –“
“You know what, you watch too many romance movies, am out of here.” She walked out of his bedroom, carrying the bags she brought in with her and his gifts and left his house.
After a busy day, Damian got a ticket to watch poets recite their poems on lovers day, but a certain girl caught his attention. He paid full attention because of her beauty. When she began reciting her poem, he stayed motionless, letting poetry fill his soul.
She ended the poem by saying, “Love is being crazy about someone, a state of sleeplessness and distraction. Love is delicate, elusive and above all, it is spontaneous. Love thrives on honesty, sincerity, coupled with being mutual responsible and concerned. It comes, at first sight, most times but for it to grow, you must flourish it by putting your open heart and soul to it.”
Their relationship lasted longer than the usual three months. He took her out for a ball party. She wore a white dress, full of filmy material, high at the throat. She rounded her waist with black ribbon, wearing also a good chain that glittered on her neck. She felt like Cinderella, as everyone was stunned at her glory, adoring her.
Damian nevertheless appeared bewitching, stumbling after her in his drab evening dress. He pressed her cool hand, circling her tiny waist and whirling her helpless in his arms about the floor.
He smelled the perfume of her hair as danced to the beat. After the dance, he took to compliment her on her beauty, her dancing, thanked her for an unforgettable evening.
They went on to have supper. After the supper, they strolled upon the terrace, he caught his breath, dazzled by the splendour of her limitless eyes, and began spitting poetry, “I can never look at a drop of dew in a buttercup without beholding shafts of love in the retreats of your eyes.”
“In you there is unity; your face and form is a blend of perfect line and contour.”
“In you there is equality; your features are exquisitely proportioned, modelled as no sculptor could model them.”
“I think of God when I see you.” He admired the creation of such perfection.
“If as he believed, harmony must give each of its works unity and equality to produce beauty, then before he was a living emblem of harmony, and so of beauty.”
“You're so lovely, how deliciously feminine and provocative you are!”
“What incomparable blending of form and colour in your divine features!”
“Your beauty is ecstasy, giving me intense pleasure.”
“Your beauty is eternity, gazing at me in every image of you.”
“Your beauty is heart inflamed, burning me in your eyes which one shade the more and one ray the less.”
“Your beauty is soul enchanted. Filming like brilliant irregular rainbows in the memory of your image which I see though I close my eyes.”
“Your beauty is life when life unveils your face.”
“Rose, your beauty is garden forever in bloom and a flock of angels in flight.” He paused for a while.
Her cheeks mantled with delicious blushes. He kept filling her with wonderful words, so tender and intense.
He swept her into his masterful arms and planted a kiss on her, warm lips, sending extraordinary stimuli through her whole body, his strong hands protecting her from the coarseness of the world.
She felt her love rise in her like a flame. She felt her whole body tremble, emblem with the excitement and the ecstasy of the thrill that swept over her.
“Was that original?” She asked.
He smiled. “You just made me a poet like you. Of course, it was original.”
“Mine wasn’t original on the day we first met.”
“What are you saying?”
“I plagiarized words from Carina Sanders. She’s a writer, not a poet.”
“Well, it doesn’t change anything now.”
Her lips met her once again. For a long moment, she had the taste of heaven on her mouth.
“I love you.” She said.
She expected him to tell her back but he didn’t. His silence made her upset as she pulled away from him.
“We've been dating for months and you're not still sure of your feelings for me!”
“Am sorry, with time I will grow to love you.”
“With time you say. I don’t have time.”
Just then without thinking of his action, he left her without saying a word.
Damian started dating Judith, he met her on Facebook and brought her from New York to live in his house, as he gets to know her. He found out she was also a cosmetic surgeon, making him take her as his assistant since he lacks one.
It was drizzling outside as Damian was driving. He drove the car through the occasional mist, climbing the winding roads up the high ranges.
“Call me and come home early after the surgery,” Judith said.
She wished she could join him in Beverly Hills but she wasn’t appointed to be among the surgeons to undergo a difficult surgery in Beverly Hills, instead, Damian was.
He met her at home after successful surgery in the kitchen, washing the dishes, instead of his usual welcoming greeting, he got a mouthful, “How could you be so late? Why didn’t you call? What am I supposed to think?” Judith yells.
“Am sorry. There was a lot of traffic on the bridge, sometimes life can’t be the way you want, you can’t expect me to always be on time. You are a doctor too, so I suppose you should know this by now.”
“Are you sure it was the traffic because the surgery ended by 6? I don’t like it when you’re late. It is upsetting to me. Your dinner is in the microwave. I would appreciate a call next time you’re going to be late.”
“Hey babe, am sorry...”
Judith chuckled. “Oh, you forgot.”
Just then he remembered today was her birthday.
“Am sorry, am sorry that I forgot. I promise to make it up to you.”
“How could you forget? When will you even remember? How am I supposed to trust that you will make it up to me when you are always running around the clock.”
“I was really busy and just forgot. These things just happen sometimes.”
“Really –“
At this moment he just had to say the word, “Am breaking up with you.”
“What! You can’t be serious.” Judith said, as a glass slipped from her hands, fell into the soapy water and broke.
“I am. Please I don’t want to see you here tomorrow. I will pay you off for your time.”
“Aargh!” Judith cried out and pulled her hands from the water. Blood ran from her right hand down to her arm.
“Judith.” Damian grabbed the dishtowel she had taken from the drawer only moments ago. He pressed it firmly against the cut. “Sit down.”
“It's just a minor cut, I’ll handle it myself,” Judith said.
“That's just your problem, just let me handle it for you.”
“And why should you, you’re the one that just broke up with me, remember.”
“That doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t help out when you’re in pain.”
“What kind of man are you?”
“What kind of man do you think I am.”
“You’re different. Your kind is rare. I’ve never seen a man who won’t touch a lady while she’s staying with him.”
“I can’t have sex with a woman I don’t love.” He paused for a while. “I'll go get antiseptic and bandage.”
He went to the bathroom and came back to see her stripped to nothing.
“No man can resist the sight of a naked woman.”
He dropped the items on top of the drawer, took the food on the microwave and left the kitchen to his room, locking the door.
Damian sat at the hospital's cafeteria not too long before being approached by a lady who sat next to him.
“Are you free for coffee tomorrow night? Seems you have no ring on your finger, hope you don’t have a girlfriend.”
Damian arched a brow and passed a grin. “I can’t believe you just asked me out.”
“It's the twenty-first century, women can ask men out. There is nowhere that says only a man can ask a woman out. Don’t flatter yourself. I would probably love spending time with you especially when you’re less busy like now, hold hands, kiss in the backseat like romantic couples. I love your eyes.”
She wrote her number on a sticky pad and pushed it to him. “Call me.”
He pushed back the sticky pad and said, “I am not interested.”
Chapter Two: Carina Sanders
A woman spoke to the camera, "Carina Sanders, a woman that inspires other women. She is poetry herself, she is not just an average, slim, white woman but possesses certain outstanding characteristics. Her aura is like that of roses, poetry, and galaxies. She is enough to drive a saint to madness or a king to his knees with not just her beauty, but her strength, her determination, her fierceness, and grace. She is not just a woman, a human, a body, but she is a force, energy, a source, above all, a complete masterpiece. Let's welcome the bestselling author -"
Carina walked in before her name was announced, waving to the audience that couldn't stop clapping and shouting in excitement. She adjusted in the chair as the first question was thrown at her.
"How did your ideas for your first book take shape." The woman asked.
"I thought of writing a romantic book, but I had to build a romantic world. A romantic world of prince charming and the maid. My ideas for the book came in the forms of what-ifs, what if there would be another prince who would want the maid as his own. I started mulling it over, and before I knew it I got the whole drama unfolding in my head."
"Interesting. So how much time did you spend writing the book."
"It took 9 months. I had to think deeply about the romantic world I was building. I thought a lot and realized a lot of things that are perfect for a romantic world in my book."
"What are those things."
"The prince charming and the maid should fall in love first before having their first kiss because if they had their first kiss before love, it wouldn't fit into the romantic world. It will be a kiss that lies. A first kiss is a kiss of rapture, exchange of hearts, and imminent marriage."
"Clothes also suit a romantic world. Every sexual advance is made with clothing. Settings, clothes, objects, all testify the ritualization of sex which is the essential character of romance just like my book." Carina said.
Carina kept on answering the questions thrown at her but the question that hit her hard was, "What are you working on right now."
Carina has been having writer's block since she started a new book in January. She started the book and discovered that it was going off differently from the way she expected. There was a certain point in her new book where it started writing itself, certain scenes always stunned her after she wrote them and she is like, "Where do I go from here."
Carina answered the woman's question, "I've been spinning ideas for the next novel I am currently writing."
The woman stifled a smile. "Am glad that you're working on a sure new book will be more successful than this one. Good luck to you."
That was just Carina's fear, not being able to top the success of her first book.
Carina chose to see herself overcome the writer's block. She went home after the interview, opened her laptop, and typed on Google "How To Overcome Writer's Block."
Google brought out tips she didn't find useful but someone's comment on one of the pages she opened caught her attention.
She read the comment - Writer's block is common for every writer. It takes time for a mind to gel a batch of ideas into a cohesive book. But it is easier and much more fun when you research your book. You are stuck on a court scene, jail scene, astronauts scene, etc in your book but researching can make things a lot simple. Role-playing with a lawyer, observing cardiac surgery, speaking to astronauts, or milking cows on a farm can help you write based on what you are experiencing or experienced and solve your writer's block.
Carina thought - I am writing another romance book, and I need it to be completely different from the first, why is it so hard to write, I can't research this or role play intimate parts.
She buried her head on the laptop in frustration for a while as the sun pooled on the tiled floor, the breeze rustling.
She raised her head, the cursor blinking in and out of sight mockingly, too many thoughts flowing in her mind, she placed her hand on the keyboard, unable to write. She began laughing hysterically and grabbed a bottle of liquor and downed on it. Just then she drank another bottle till she was left completely drunk.
She stared at the screen displaying funny faces and soliloquized, "Writer's block sucks!"
A brain appeared on the screen and said, "No it doesn't."
"Who are you?" Carina asked.
"I am you."
"Huh..." She said in utter shock and disbelief.
"Don't act so shocked. I am your writer's block and I've come to help you."
"How have you come to help me?"
"Do you know something more fascinating?" It asked.
"No," Carina said, shaking her head.
"It's me. Your imagination is your power, trust me, you can form a good story in your head, it's all in your head." It disappeared on the screen.
Carina sighed and placed her head on the desk, dozing off.
A romantic scene began playing in her dream - She just left the coffee shop with a man she has never met in reality, this man she hasn't met was Damian Michael.
They walked by, giggling, after having the best coffee in a while. The weather was just so perfect.
"I love the fall, I love squeezing into cheap Halloween costumes and pumpkin spice," Carina said.
"I love that too, I'll order one."
They held their juice, walking down the park as the rain began drizzling. Carina pulled out an umbrella from her bag.
"I don't think the rain's going to fall."
"What makes you think so." She asked.
She was surprised to see that the rain stopped drizzling and they both giggled again.
She opened her bag, putting back her umbrella as they sat on a bench.
"Carina, do you love me?"
"You are silly, of course, I do." Carina stifled a smile. "You do love me too right?"
"Yes."
They giggled once more.
"Would you be my girlfriend?"
Carina blushed. "And why should I be." She teased.
"I guess we are made for each other, we like the same things, we do the same things you know, it's as if we are one body. If you say yes, our love be like a fairytale of a happy ending. It will be a vibrant colour, full of passion. It will be a flower that will never stop blooming. It will be a beautiful evergreen melodious song. It will be -"
"Stop with the poetry, you flatter me a lot. I will be your girlfriend."
He couldn't contain the happiness within him as he stood up, lifting her and spinning her around as they both kept on laughing.
Another scene appeared in her dream.
"Where are you here? Oh... you thought you could leave without a word and come back for me to accept you, just like that." Carina said.
"Am sorry for my actions."
"That's what you keep on saying, am sorry..." Carina rubbed her temple. "Please just go, what we shared then was special but you left me when the romance was on fire. It's over between us, just go. Leave like how you left me then."
"You say it, but you don't mean it. You don't sound convincing." He said, taking a deep breath. "Okay, if you truly want me to leave, just say it one more time and I will leave."
Carina fought the tears in her eyes, before she could say a word, the tears ran down.
He reached out and touched her cheek. Tenderly but with infinite strength.
She held still, "Go." She said softly.
Just then, as he was leaving, he turned back to look at her one more time, to his utmost surprise, she saw her collapsing. "Carina!"
She opened her eyes, beholding his face. When she turned away from him, she noticed she was in new surroundings.
"You're in a hospital. You weren't feeling fine."
"Thanks," Carina said.
"I will be staying with you for the next few days until you get better."
"I don't want you to."
"But I choose to."
"Why?" Carina asked, arching a brow.
"Because I love you, I have never stopped and I will never stop. I love you so much that the word love isn't enough."
"You told me you loved me before and you left, do lovers leave the ones they claim to love?"
"I know I did you wrong and I will never stop apologizing if that will make up for it. I know you feel something for me too, you still love me, please... just forget the past and let's focus on the present that is our love."
"I don't feel anything for you anymore."
She smiled. "We both know it's a lie."
Carina woke up. Her head arched from the liquor, and her eyes, still dozy. "Romance, ro -" She soliloquized and fell back to sleep.
Another scene sets in - A cool breeze blew past them as they stood outside.
"I feel better now, thanks for being with me the whole time but you have to g-"
Before she could complete the sentence go, he silenced her with his mouth. His lips crushing against hers, it was a slow kiss at first, and then it got deeper as she matched with his force.
Carina parted her lips but his tongue seemed entrance, delving into the contours of her mouth. Their tongues mated for a while. She was enjoying the kiss so much she couldn't break out but wanted more. She moaned as the spark of pleasure thrilled her.
In the branches above, a bird burst into song to show mother nature enjoying their romance. The bird sang forth even louder as he broke the kiss to trail his tongue down her jaw and neck. Sensual and sloppy kisses.
Her full breasts pressed against her top. Her nipples stood out, erect, and he knew it was arching for his hands, his mouth.
The breeze stirred the leaves, bringing with it the sweet scent of flowers. They breathed in its delight as his mouth found her once again, she responded to this thrilling pleasure by curving her fingers around his shoulders, digging at him with her nails.
He cupped her breast with hands, moulding, and caressing.
In the magic of the moment, Carina arched into his hands, wanting more, needing everything.
He trialled another kiss on her neck. Her heart stopped beating for a minute and she froze when he reached her collarbone.
He tasted her on the neck as she bit back a moan. He moved a hand lower, over her ribcage, her abdomen, to the apex of her thighs, curving his fingers around her. A soft sigh of pleasure slipped from her lips, mingling with the sultry sounds of the evening, she couldn't help but cry out with pleasure as he kept on nipping and exploring.
He planted yet another kiss on her lips. He did it slowly. Before he could even reach her lips, he felt her nipples graze against his chest. Her body tensed up immediately. Then their lips connected. Carina's mouth was soft and warm.
The kissing became more passionate as they realized the degree to which they could touch and explore each other's bodies. They groped each other, blindly but tenderly. A potent, explosive sexual energy that they never felt before. It burned inside them like a fire.
Carina enjoyed the moment and never wanted it to end, but then, the hurt of him going away hit her. She caught herself in this pure romance and pulled her away from him. "Just go, please..."
He respected her word and left, without turning back to look at her.
Carina woke up with a headache. A stinging pain hitting her head. She couldn't remember anything that happened after drinking the liquor, but a part of her knew she played a part in a good romance book she should write.
Chapter Three: Fusion In The Maldives
The October weather was perfect so early in the morning. Damian stood in the airport, he had decided to take a break from work.
He arrived too early for the Maldives' flight with people who gathered a few distances from him.
Damian felt something strange about today, the sky was full of colours, he wondered if it were colours of love. Everyone stared at the sky, adorning the beautiful rainbow.
He felt it as a good sign that true love was near, and then he sighted Carina, he couldn't believe he was picturing her in slow motion. Her beauty was blinding to him, at that moment, the world stopped moving.
He felt not only a spark but sparks. She threw her hair back, it fluttered in the air in slow motion, and just then he saw her smile, the smile that can light up a thousand sky.
He walked towards the gathering of people as a woman said, "I am your biggest fan. I love this part in your book which says - love is being crazy about someone, a state of sleeplessness and distraction. Love is delicate, elusive, and above all, spontaneous. Love thrives on honesty, sincerity, coupled with being mutually responsible and also, concern. It comes, at first sight, most times, but for it to grow, you must flourish it by putting your open heart and soul into it. I remember that particular line, it is poetry, maybe you should try writing poetry."
Carina smiled. They are oblivious that she is currently faced with writer's block and is traveling to the Maldives to clear her head.
Damian remembered the poem he fell in love with months ago, the poem that captured his heart. Damian is easily moved by poetry, he loves creativity, he loves intelligence, and the woman he was staring at speechless portrayed both creativity and intelligence.
Carina said, "Thank you guys for..."
As she continued talking, Damian's eyes fixed on her, the way she spoke eloquently, like a television star, full of maturity and poise, he thought.
Suddenly his phone began to ring, he left the gathering to answer the call, just then, after the call, he turned back and saw that everyone including her in the gathering had gone their separate ways.
Throughout that time, the flight, that day, they didn't meet.
Damian did not see Carina again until they bumped into each other two days later.
"You!" Carina exclaimed. "I met you the other day at the airport."
"Am glad you remembered, am Damian by the way. And you're..."
Carina burst out laughing. "Seriously, you don't know my name."
"Am serious, I don't," Damian said.
"I am the most popular author right now. Search for Carina Sanders on Google and you will get to see my book too." She said and suddenly walked into the store.
As she walked in, she heard the sound of music, something beautiful and romantic. The sound reminded her of the music box she had as a kid that she loved so much.
Damian walked in as the sound swept him off his feet. He began following the sound, its sweet melody reminded him of when he used to play with a music box.
They bumped into each other once again. Carina wanted to say something but she was interrupted by the shopkeeper, "I guess you guys are looking for this." He said, bringing out the music box.
"I want it." Damian and Carina both said together.
"Oh... we only have one of this, and this has been here for months, made by an old couple. The couple died some months ago. It will be hard to find this anywhere. You guys like this but one person must need to sacrifice for the other, the man should sacrifice." He said.
"He's right Damian, a man sacrifices and besides, this made my childhood," Carina said.
"It made mine too." Damian took the box and held it, glancing at her. "It brings back sweet memories."
Carina felt like there was a connection between them. She touched the box and said, "It's beautiful."
"Yes," Damian murmured. "Beautiful." He opened the music box.
Their gazes met and held. The store grew suddenly too warm, too still. The smell of the music box surrounded them, almost overpowering in its sweetness.
Carina said, "I feel like I've seen you somewhere."
The shopkeeper smiled, "It's obvious, you guys are meant to be."
"He's right Carina, we are meant to be," Damian said.
"If it's true, then we will meet again," Carina said.
"I'll leave it to fate, perhaps to write our love story." He handed her the music box and left the store.
The next day, they met at a library. Damian didn't see her at first, he was going through a series of books, looking for his taste when Carina sighted him, she approached him saying, "You were right after all."
Damian turned and smiled. "We meet yet again."
"Yeah!" Carina said, a smile plastering on her face. "So what's your taste."
"Romance," Damian answered.
As he said that, Carina realized they had things in common, just the other day, the music box reminded them of their childhood days, now they love the same genre of book. "That's my favourite too." She chuckled. "Your favourite author apart from romance? Like politics or poets."
"Foster and Woolf," Damian said.
"I also love the Bloomsbury group," Carina said with excitement, chuckling. "So you must also be an admirer of Maynard Keynes."
"Absolutely. I admire his economics."
How much of a great connection, as they said together, "We are wearing a matching cloth."
They both laughed, wondering what next they will find in common.
They went on talking from there, grabbed lunch, and spent time in his lodged hotel room.
Carina smiled, holding a disc, and said, "The Beatles."
"I guess they're your favourite like they're mine. Do you want to hear?" Damian asked.
"Of course," Carina said, still smiling.
Carina watched as he twirled the disc on his index finger and blew imaginary dust from both sides before placing it gently on the record player. Little things like this, the way he touched things and the way he moved, had the strangest, most thrilling effect on her, coupled with other things she admired about him.
Laughing and enjoying each other's company, Damian said softly, reaching out his hands as their favourite song of The Beatles began to play.
"My fave." They both said together, yet again.
Carina reached for him, and he pulled her up. Her heart was thumping and her feet shuffled clumsily as he wrapped one arm around her waist, they sang along with the flow of the music. Carina went on to rest her head against his chest with closed eyes, her body swaying a little to the music.
He kissed the top of her head and after a while, he let go of her waist. Damian said, "I closed my eyes and I can't stop smiling, I imagined walking with you forever, hand in hand, strolling through beautiful places, laughing and talking."
"Why don't we make it happen now," Carina said.
All this while they spent together, they didn't bother to ask anything about themselves.
They went for hunting - They moved in the way of hunters, soft and alert, their eyes on their target, silence chaining their movements. Damian sighted a deer take off at a dead run. He immediately pulled the trigger and missed, the animal was too fast. He pulled the trigger once more, the recoil jerked him backward, but still, he killed it.
Later on, they decided they were going to swim at the hotel. Carina changed to her swimsuit, Damian appeared only in his underwear. Carina sighted him in his underwear, her resolve of a moment before evaporated in the breath of the October cool air. Her pulse scrambled at his gloriously male body unclothed, save for the underwear. Carina kept telling herself to keep her eyes on his face, but couldn't help but lower them.
He appeared subtly muscled and strong, with the body of a man who had been active all of his life. His skin tan and firm. His broad shoulders and chest tapered down to narrow hips and a flat, hard stomach.
Damian entered the pool, Carina still stood, watching him streaking beneath the surface of the water to emerge halfway across the pool, watching his shoulders rising like a great whale and his arms windmilling in a butterfly stroke.
Damian's face popped out of the water as he said, "Are you going to stand there all day watching me, or are you going to come to join me and swim."
She smiled and joined him in the pool.
"I loved the way you talked of love in your book," Damian said, his body so close to her.
"I guess everybody loved that line," Carina said.
"But you didn't mention that the state of love is temporary, you went further to write the symptoms of the love state excluding agitation, fever, loss of appetite, and alternations of euphoria," Damian said.
"I don't know if your love state, what am certain of is sleeplessness and distraction that I wrote in my book. Yours is unromantic, if I added that, it will ruin my book."
He laughed. "Forget that I said that."
Carina said, "My body is too revealing on this swimsuit but you weren't lusting after my body or make any advancement like touching my body."
"I am not that kind of man who is sex personified. I don't like to see a stark naked woman. I am not necessarily mad keen to see a woman in panties and bra. I do not lose my head when a woman's skirt blows up in a high wind, showing all she's got on. I do not enjoy the gorgeous breasts spilling from the top of a woman's dress or forcing their way through the tight sweater. I do not revel in the sight of a woman's bottom, swaying."
She smiled, her love tank for him was full.
"There's a place I want to show you," Damian said.
"Where?" Carina asked.
Damian took her to the woods after they dressed. "Look at this tree." He said, pointing.
Carina hasn't seen a tree as tall as this one, she couldn't believe she was staring at a hundred feet tall tree. Carina held Damian's hand and said, "It's amazing."
"It is called the kissing tree," Damian said as Carina swallowed at the sound of the kiss. He continued, "We will carve our name on this tree, and then we will have our first kiss. Our first kiss should be something not short of magic, don't you think so."
Carina's cheek was full of colors as they both carved their names on the tree. Carina could see the thousands of lovers' names on the tree.
Carina's face was so close to Damian's face. Carina thought of her tongue in his mouth, not caring to look at his face, expecting the expression of aesthetic delight. Their tongues wiggling and pulsating, or at his lips touch hers, she will blossom like a flower and the incarnation would be complete. Her heart was beating faster and faster as thoughts of their first kiss were racing on her mind.
Before she could withdraw her mind from far places, his arms were around her. Damian imagined her lips touching his, her eyes closing, her sweet lips puckering up, and all the other sounds of the world going silent.
Carina took a deep breath as Damian bent back her head across his arm and kissed her, softly at first, and then with a swift gradation of intensity that made her cling to him as the only thing in a dizzy swaying world. When they shared their first kiss, their soul opened, they tasted feeling and saw every color of the rainbow in their sensual way. They felt like they were levitating off the ground and floating in the air. Their feelings were indescribable, they couldn't be put perfectly into words and the best part of speech or figure of speech couldn't describe it well. It was more like an aphrodisiac, mixed with a Pandora box effect and fireworks glowing inside them.
Chapter Four: Fantastic Week
They spent six days together, going on dates, going to the theater, symphony, opera, and ballet. On the seventh day, they decided to have the most creative sex ever in his hotel room, taste each other, and explore their bodies.
Carina stood apart from him and he looked at her romantically.
Damian's thought - She is a real woman, perfectly proportioned with natural beauty. I want to make an erotic connection with her, right here.
So there they stood, facing each other, at the point of maximum erotic potential, to have the most creative sex they'd never had.
Carina reached for his shirt. Damian watched her fingers negotiating his buttons. She had it unbuttoned and removed. Soon, he stood there bare-chested and taking deep, heaving breaths. She caught a slight whiff of his cologne evaporating off his chest.
Damian fumbled with his belt buckle and then unzipped his fly. Carina managed to get his pants down to his feet where he stepped out of them. Damian was awkwardly aware of the way his penis flopped about inside his boxers. The movement seemed to catch Carina's eye, drawing her attention momentarily.
Damian watched her eyes as Carina began to slide the boxers down his thighs, observing with a sense of wonder as his body revealed itself. His underwear crept downward, one centimeter at a time.
Then, finally, it happened. His naked penis flopped out and wobbled in front of Carina's face, half erect. Carina watched as it quickly lengthened the rest of the way, stiffening dramatically in front of her eyes, pulsing at the rate of his heartbeat, and gently twitching higher and higher into the air as his shaft became rigid and firm. Carina paused suddenly, her eyes bulging for a moment as examined his exposed genitals. She focused briefly on the thick, ridged head of his cock, then traveled along his lengthening shaft until it met with his testicles dangling between his legs, and then I looked up to observe his neatly groomed pubic hair.
Damian began to undress her. His hands pulled her bra forward, letting the cups fall away from her body. His breath stopped as he looked down and watched her breasts gently bounce-free and wobble ever so slightly as they settled into place, extending proudly from her chest.
Raymond's thought - They seemed to me to exemplify everything sweet and feminine, from their delicate roundedness to the pale impression of a nearly-extinct tan line, to the vigilant nipples swelling from their tips like two rosy coins. I want to bury myself in her warmth, immerse myself in their soft cushioning, then feel the hardness of her excited nipples on my tongue.
Carina gazed at him with a serious, longing expression, reflecting it with her desire. He slid down along her body toward the final unknown territory of her body. He craved the opportunity to explore the limits of her private femininity with tenderness and adoration and there it was, obscured by just one small piece of fabric.
Damian grasped her panties, eye-to-eye with the apex between her thighs. He began to slide them down, slowly, savoring the moment. A sharp line of hair emerged, then more after, until a soft, thin bush blossomed forth. Neatly groomed, it was not too thick, having the appearance of light brown, silky fur. He continued downward until he saw the delicate pink flesh of her labia emerge, much sparser with its finespun, gossamer, hair, and already quite swollen with erotic excitement. He found himself so entranced with the exquisite lips of her naked vagina that he lost himself for a moment, drowning in its feminine charms.
Carina's hands dropped to her side as if preparing to suffer the pleasure of his curious touches. Growing bolder and more eager, he moved his hands up her stomach toward the undersides of her breasts. Damian felt her soft, pliable flesh collecting in his hands, then slid over the tips, feeling her hardened nipples dragging across his palms. There he cupped them gently, assessing their weighty bulk, and then felt them quake briefly.
Damian's hand found its way around the nape of her neck, then it climbed upward to caress her hair. Carina guides him forward, gently holding his cheek against her chest. He felt himself instantly collapse, turning his face into the chasm between her breasts. He lingered there, inhaling deeply the natural scent of her skin, letting her blushing nipples find their way to his mouth where they popped over the ridges of his lips and tickled his nose.
After Carina enjoyed his brief escape to the seclusion and solace of her breasts, Damian slipped his hand down over her belly button and cupped her furry mons. He heard her inhale sharply. His fingers found their way over a feathery plain of hair until they discovered two smooth banks of flesh that parted willingly, giving way to a velvety interior that he briefly massaged, while at the same time gazing intensely into Carina's eyes. Her lips began to quiver then emit a breathy sigh.
Damian felt Carina tugging eagerly at his penis, jerking it slowly at full mast, her quiet vocalizations ambiguous and hoarse. The strong arch in her back pressed her breasts forward and her stomach heaved in and out causing her bellybutton to rise and fall. He could feel the erotic charge building in her body as her heavy breathing reacted to the fierce resistance her engorged member offered her passionate manipulations.
Damian grew bolder himself, parting her labia and slipping her fingers between those soft folds of flesh where they vanished into a moist, slippery chasm. She quickly parted her legs wider, offering him greater access which he willingly accepted. With a shiver, he came to know just how sticky and slick she'd become. For a long while, they remained just like that, gently leaning into each other, listening to the other's breathing, being stroked lovingly. Their bodies came alive under each other's touch as Carina stroked his penis and he rubbed her vagina in slow circles, the two of them investigating each other's body.
Carina's quivering hands continued to softly caress the solid trunk of his penis as she studied the thick, distinct head pointed toward her lips. She seemed to be examining the small hole at the tip, the red ridge that separated his glans from the shaft, the soft, sensitive flesh beneath it which she lovingly stroked with her thumb. Then she leaned slowly forward, closed her eyes, and gently kissed the tip of his penis. He felt her warm breath exhale against his swollen member. Then he felt another kiss, and another, all along his shaft.
Carina parted her lips when his penis slid into her mouth. Damian gazed down at her warmly, then he closed his eyes and sunk into oblivion.
Damian felt the warm, rich moisture of Carina's mouth envelop him. The strong suction as she took his penis deeper, toward the back of her throat. From time to time, she allowed him to briefly slip back out, her eyes lowering, studying and admiring, using every sense to assess the swollen object which so ignited her passions. After a short while, she gave in, sufficiently satisfied in her exploration of his taste and smell.
Carina held his hand lovingly on the bed. She lifted her legs and bowed her knees out to the side, then swept aside her long hair, narrowed her eyes, and placed one hand upon her inner thigh, opening her hips further and casting Damian an inviting look. She seemed to relish the expression on his face as he watched the fuzzy fleshy opening parting wide and inviting him in to savor her sweet delicacy.
Carina's flushed thighs rose on either side of Damian's head as he lowered toward the seclusion of her crotch. Her vagina was fragrant and moist, already glistening with abundant lubrication. He inhaled deeply, letting her private odors flood his head. His nostrils burned with the heady, intoxicating perfume of potent, female sexual arousal. He found himself salivating, eager to drown himself in her body right then and there.
The moment Damian made contact he heard Carina whimper loudly, her body slumping and going weak as he kissed the wrinkly flesh of her expanding labia. Her sticky flesh clung to his lips, his first taste of her wet vagina. He was instantly enamored, craving more, craving all of it. His tongue lashed out and dragged through her silky inner flesh, gathering a coating of fresh, dewy moisture, as her balmy humidity engulfed his entire face.
Damian went to work, skillfully exploring every inch, every fold. Carina writhed and squeaked most wonderfully, submitting her most private erogenous zones fully to his explosive fascination. He tickled her thigh, licked and sucked at her labia, flicked eagerly at her clit, clutching at her breasts and mashing her slick mound against his hungry mouth. Finally left with an aching jaw and a dripping chin, he withdrew from the greatest source of pleasure he'd had ever known.
Damian reached out and gently touched her labia, splitting it open slightly to reveal the pink inner flesh of her vagina. She was already becoming wet. He wanted to sink his fingers inside her body but he reeled in his impatient curiosity. Gently, he began to stroke her labia and the inside of her thigh. She began cooing quietly and slipped into a kind of trance. Her folds parted easily, permitting him to stroke along the velvety flesh inside. Soon, her hardening nub began to peek out. He circled it with his fingers and she moaned loudly.
Carina gasped softly as his lips graced her labia. Her body jerked to life, desperately opening to him and to the thrill of having succeeded in doing something that was both terrifying and miraculous at the same time.
Damian planted kisses along her long, deep slit, then loosened her flesh with the tip of his tongue, stroking her delicately as he had done earlier with his fingers. As she quivered, he found myself suddenly awash in her body's natural odors.
Damian began sucking at those moist lips and dragging his tongue through her depths as she became feverish and creamy. Carina's sudden jerks and squeaks only drove him to wilder as he continued to work her vagina with his tongue, fascinated by the generous secretions of her body and their earthy savor. Savored excitedly at her body, building her into a frenzy of emotion, teasing her bulging clit until it left her unhinged.
Damian slid forward, holding his penis between her legs. They exchanged glances, quietly assessing each other's state. He eased into it, taking the swollen head of his penis and rubbing it back and forth along the dewy, pink flesh between her legs. He pressed forward and began forcing himself inside. He felt her inner muscles stretching wider for him, welcoming him into the depths of her body. As he did this, she grasped for his arms, gripping them tightly.
Damian slid smoothly into her tight pussy. Her eyes widened and they smiled at each other, both of them rapidly increasing the frequency of their breaths. As he began to slowly thrust forward and back, he could feel himself beaming. She gazed up at him with sparkling eyes.
Damian observed her delight; delight at her pleasure, delight even upon seeing his own. Carina grasped his body firmly. She began to occasionally close her eyes with a brief withdrawal into herself to savor the pleasure. Meanwhile, his eyes toured her body, absorbed in the animation of her breasts, the dark wisp of hair between her legs, in contrast to the paleness of her body, her thick, pronounced labia which had begun turning rosy with friction, and the sticky, audible suction of her body as it continued to further lubricate itself in response to his efforts. Then they began to stare fiercely into each other's eyes with a wild determination as they both jerked their hips together in unison.
If Damian had to describe the expression that began to subsequently develop on Carina's face, it would simply be the perfect distillation of joy. Her eyes were filled with silent laughter. Her mouth curled at the sides, struggling to maintain composure before it flourished into a fully realized grin that reached ear to ear. They had sex hungrily, facing each other with open hearts and obvious amusement. He grasped her boobs as they shifted up and down her chest, excited by the movement of her body and the felicity with which she eagerly pumped her hips against his.
Carina reached up and touched his chest, running her hands over it, brushing her fingers through the light hair in the narrow channel between Damian's abs. Carina seemed as enthralled by his nipples as he was with hers. From time to time, Carina craned her head to glance at their hips, moving with urgency, as if keen to glimpse the thick appendage that she could feel gliding through her depths. She seemed startled and perhaps a little amused at how generously her body coated it with a viscid film.
After a while, a change of positions was sorely needed. They came at a few inches to the left, Damian enjoyed the view of the deeply swinging boobs hanging beneath her chest as Carina shimmied over. The large mounds of her buttocks wavered as she moved her legs further apart and pressed her hips back, expanding the sopping flesh of her wet vagina in his direction. He was so anxious to slip smoothly back inside her that he grabbed hold of her bum before she even finished settling into place. He dunked himself back into the slick canal that awaited him, then resumed thrusting, driving deeper and deeper into the humid interior of her body and watching himself glide back outward again, further coated in her warm emissions.
Carina began moaning loudly, pressing her face down into the soft cushion beneath them, her face twisted into a wonderful crisis. "Oh... Damian." she whimpered suddenly.
Nothing could compete with the raw experience of pleasure seizing her body at that moment.
"Yes!" she cried out before taking another gasp of air. "Mmmmh," she moaned again, before flirting with her continued desire to vocalize her passions.
Carina's words were so charged, so flecked with the self-indulgent taboo. High on adrenaline and driven wild by the thrill of her pleasure, Damian pumped inside her as fast and hard as he could, listening to the slap of his body against her soft flesh and the flopping of her loose breasts.
Carina came at the intensity of their lovemaking. She eased her hips into a position that allowed her thighs to widen for him. Damian shuffled forward on his knees, overtly conscious of his raging penis that extended outward before his body and swung madly from side to side.
Grasping Carina's buttocks and positioning his penis between her thighs. There he found the hairy portal to her body splitting open to reveal a deep pink canal.
I eased my cock forward, clearing her lips and gliding smoothly into her body. It was a momentous experience as I felt Venessa expanding, the tight walls of her vaginal canal snuggly grasping my hard shaft on all sides. Venessa gasped softly, then let out a muffled groan.
Damian was engrossed in the sublime sensation of dense, hardened flesh plunging through flesh that was yielding, soft, and slick. He gawked at the peachy roundness of her tight bum, the compact wobble of her cheeks, the way they compressed in his hands as he squeezed and kneaded them happily. He watched the glistening rod of his penis driving deep into her body and then out again, glazed with a creamy film as she coated it in her cum.
The air filled with the music of Carina's happy cries and the powerful odors of their aroused bodies intermingling.
Damian began to pound Carina harder, listening to the volume of her moans increasing. He watched the rippling of her spongy flesh receive the impact of his body, the gluey strands of her cum forming at the entrance of her vagina, the frantic swing of her loose breasts as they jostled beneath her body. It suddenly felt warm and steamy. His vision briefly blurred as he became overwhelmed with pleasure, hearing only the regular smack of one body recoiling against another.
Damian pulled out of Carina's vagina then laid back and watched as she sunk her firm buttocks over his groin, letting his upright penis ease deep into her vagina once again. Propping herself up atop his body, she let out a small sigh and he could see the slow creep of her smile reforming at the edge of her face. For the next few moments, he enjoyed watching her in the driver's seat, holding all the power over both her pleasure and his. She began to roll her hips with a steady rhythm, grinding firmly against his body. With each urgent gyration, her cheeks flexed open, revealing the rosy pucker of her anus and the two dampened lips gaping open to devour his penis like a hungry, seething mouth.
As her pleasure increased, Carina began to scoop her hips faster, whipping them back and forth aggressively, causing the loose mounds of her clammy flesh to wobble and quiver. Suddenly, her head hung low. Her face, lost in a forest of fallen hair, briefly emerged now and then emit a soft moan and flashed her blue eyes indiscriminately about the room. Damian found himself lost in the blissful scent of her arousal.
Carina swung her whole body upright, arching her back and extending her chest. Damian's hand traveled up the front of her body to cup and fondle her breasts. Carina delighted in pinching her nipples as she transitioned from a rolling motion to a frantic bounce. As she threw her hair back and moaned, he briefly caught a glimpse of her face. It was awash with pure, unadulterated joy. She continued to spring up and down, driving his swollen penis up through the tight inner canal of her body over and over again. She began to laugh softly, letting her head bob about drunkenly. It seemed as if she was riding some sex toy for the first time, ecstatic with bliss and shock over the unexpected degree of pleasure she could coax out of the hard, protracted object that penetrated her so deeply.
Carina spun around so quickly that it caught Damian off guard. Her eyes immediately searched for his until they firmly connected. With an expression of great joy, she placed her hands gently on his chest, readjusting her hips until she was comfortably impaled on his penis again. Carina sat up in his lap, swinging her hair out of her face and lowering her eyes to his to offer a hungry stare. Her body began moving again, winding like a serpent, unwilling or unable to take even the briefest pause in the fierce desire to derive maximum pleasure from his body. Their eyes remained locked like that, transmitting urgent signals about how badly they wanted one another and how wonderful it felt to be doing what we were doing.
Wrapping her arms around his neck she began to ride him, face-to-face. Damian held her torso as she rocked back and forth, feeling the dense tips of her nipples repeatedly graze his chest. She scooped her hips back and forth with increasing urgency, her eyes still locked to his with a mad determination. The frantic swing of her buttocks brought her soft patch of pubic hair up against his hips and then back again, tickling his skin. He drew her attention downward as he observed their bodies connecting. His rigid cock stood firm in its deep plunge through her body, emerging repeatedly engorged and reddish, coated in a thick film that audibly declared its stickiness with each swing of her hips.
"Uh!" Carina whimpered as they gazed in wonder together at their physical union and at the excess of cum that her body continually slathered on his.
Being so fully consumed by his shared intimacy with Carina. However, Damian was vaguely aware of the flurry of activity that suddenly raged around them.
Carina suddenly looked bleary-eyed, sweaty, and weakened. Damian reached up and embraced her body, feeling her collapse into my arms. He felt the heat from her body, the slight tang of her sweat, the raw, piquant scent of her body. She then laid on her back, gazing up into his eyes with a pleading took, begging him to take her the rest of the way. He rose in front of her, forcing her knees out to either side and shared an excited grin with her. He reached forward and gently cupped her breasts as she adjusted her hips wider to fit him between them. Then he eased forward and began inserting his penis deep inside the snug pink canal offered up to him with so much urgency.
Damian felt himself sink into her tight vagina as the bliss returned and washed over him. The hairy ring encircling her labia split open wider as she received his eager girth, devouring his penis inch by inch and welcoming him home into her comfortable depths. He began to make love to her hard in missionary, observing the sweet anguish on her face as she moaned uncontrollably.
Damian was driven wild by the sight of her two beautiful tits lurching happily about her chest as he kept thrusting into her.
"Yes, Raymond!" she exclaimed.
Damian offered Carina all his trust as he swung his hips forward and back, both of them watching the thick mass of his penis forcing its way through her soft ring of pubic hair. Plunging deep into the yawning, pink opening of her body where she eagerly welcomed him home into the deepest recesses of her femininity. He felt a powerful emotion sweep through his body. It was love. It overtook him. Suddenly, he wanted her closer to him and he lifted her into his arms.
Carina embraced him and quickly started to ride his penis in his lap. They gazed into each other's eyes, bound to each other on every level, their bodies grinding together in perfect unison. They were at each other's lips. Damian could feel the waves of pleasure rolling through her body, activating every center of pleasure until she came alive with such an erotic climax that all boundaries between them seemed to vanish.
Carina's warm body moved frantically against his. The soft cushion of her breasts pressed into his chest, her hot breath scattered across his neck, the soft, wet squelch of her body receiving his. Damian could feel himself reaching the point of no return. He was ready to give her everything.
Damian began erupting, cumming inside her with warm issuances of cum that drained all the strength from his body. The moment it started, she climaxed with a bang, her whole body thundering with a full-body orgasm that left her senseless. He submitted to the sensation of the two of them orgasming together, clutching each other urgently, anchored against one another, each of them equally explosive and powerless but somehow bolstered and reassured by the comforting presence of the other.
At that moment of peak climax, the world went away. There were no memories, just passion in its purest form. In the vast blankness of the mind at the point of orgasm, Damian and Carina went away. Just one continuous flow of energy. A warmth, security. They blended. They melded.
And even moments later, when the world came screaming back into existence to break them in two once again, they resisted, clutching for each other tightly in a cloud of heat and sweat, their fierce expressions locked together.
Damian could read her eyes. He knew exactly what she was thinking. He was thinking the same thing.
In their sweaty, desperate haze, they had made love in a perfect state of harmony and perfection and it was only a matter of time before they would return, surrendering themselves to that comfortable dissolution, the one that made all pain go away. They'd return to that place time and time again, for as long as any existence on earth could allow.
Chapter Five: Reality Check
Damian had taken two weeks to break from work, the last two days left, he decides on making it romantic for the both of them.
On the first day - Carina woke up to see herself beside the kissing tree. She felt the cool weather grace her skin. The woods were silent with a delicious sense of repose and peace in the deep pervading calm. The leaves were still, there were no sounds to disturb nature's meditation.
Carina smiled wondering why Damian kept her here.
"Do you believe in fairytales," Damian said, his voice echoed.
"I don't believe in fairytales. Damian where are you!" Carina yelled.
Suddenly a hummingbird flew and rested on her shoulder. Carina said while smiling, "She's beautiful."
"Not just her."
Carina heard his voice again. Just then, sounds came to life in the woods. A woodpecker was heard.
Carina was stunned as little green worms came crawling to her, lifting two-thirds of its body into the air from time to time. Carina giggled at the worms dancing, she couldn't believe what her eyes were seeing. After the dance, the worms sat as still as stones and when she touched their bodies, they shake delightfully. She picked one of them up and placed it on her leg, it began to journey over her and her whole heart was glad, then she placed it back on the ground.
A procession of ants suddenly appeared from nowhere, Carina watched as they lugged a dead spider to a tree trunk for breakfast. Carina spotted a ladybug dancing in its flight as she giggled.
A tumblebug came next, heaving sturdily at its ball. Carina touched it as it shut its legs against its body and pretended to be dead, she smiled. A catbird, the northern mocker rested on her head, just then, Carina believed in a fairytale.
A twig almost on her reach, a gray squirrel came scurrying along and sat beside her, and butterflies came fluttering upon the scene.
Carina was wondering how Damian could make this scene happen as she played with the beautiful creatures.
Damian's footsteps made their runoff. "Now, do you believe in fairytales?" He asked.
Carina responded with a smile and then said, "How did you come up with that, it was -"
"They were friendly, weren't they?" He said, cutting her short. "Come let me show you the riverside."
They both walked and arrived a distance from the clear cold water. Carina sat at the fireplace he built and he served her bacon for breakfast with a small catfish he caught in the water. She ate the fried fish and was astonished she hasn't tasted a fish that's so delicious like the one she just ate. The bacon was nothing short of delicious too.
Everything appeared to her as fairy-like, each new scene more charming than the last as they enjoyed beautiful moments together going to see a play in the theater, and spending more romantic time together.
In the night, they both laid on the sands, watching the stars. Carina said while watching, "I love the Maldives. I am intrigued with everything about the Maldives. The weather has a soothing effect. On clear nights, I feel transported out of the world, up to the celestial globe, spangled with refulgent stars. On clear days I can find myself walking as in a dream through shining fields."
"It is indeed perfect." Damian smiled. "Tell me more about love, apart from what you wrote in your book." He said.
"What don't you know of love?" Carina asked.
"The way it is described matters, I fell in love with the description in your book, I yearn to hear more," Damian said, turning to face her. With the light the moon gave, he could still see her face. Her framing eyebrows that arched like rainbows, her straight nose, her full lips that made him think of a dove in flight, and her sensitive chin, he was scarcely breathing at her beauty.
Carina said, "Love is light, the prince of colors. It is blinding. It blinds even when you are concentrating on other things. Love is -"
"I love you." Damian broke in.
She blushed. His hands cupped her face. "You don't have to say anything, I know you love me too." He said.
Carina drew back her head, raised her face to his, and their eyes locked. Tears glistened on her cheeks. The scent of lilacs poured heavily into the atmosphere. The moon glowed with colors and bathed her finely carved irony features, accentuating their perfection.
Damian asked, "Why does that look stay in your eyes?"
"What look?"
"That gleam."
Carina said softly, "My heart, my very life, that gleam is my love for you, can you not tell? You round out everything I have ever wanted in this world. Damian," She called out his name, romantically, before saying, "I love you."
Damian love so many things about her. He loved her maturity marked by the color and richness of her character. He loved her subtle depth of sympathy and understanding. Beauty is the outshining of the light inside her, so he loved everything that shines outwardly in her.
Carina said, "You are life to me. You are melody and the breath of flowers, you are honey and spice, you are my present and my future, you are my very soul. Apart from you, I have no soul."
Damian wanted to tell her that he would be leaving soon to travel to California with him but he remembered that he has a busier schedule, he wouldn't have time for her again.
Venessa thought - We love each other but we are not in a real relationship, I know nothing about him and knows nothing about me likewise. The universe connects us isn't enough. I want to know him but I will enjoy the moment with him and give it time till I ask him personal questions.
He pulled her up from the ground. "Where are you taking me to this time," Carina asked.
"Let's stroll."
They stopped at the bridge as Damian said, "Maldives' weather is nice tonight."
"I love it," Carina said.
"The stars are complimented by your beauty."
Carina blushed. Damian slipped his hands onto her hips and pulled her close to him for a kiss. Carina didn't want the moment to end. His lips met hers as they both enjoyed a long, gentle, passionate kiss. Their emotions flowing unrestrictedly, their intensity growing stronger as they explored their mouths.
After the kiss, he took her to a nightclub. When they stepped on the dance floor, the DJ cranked the music up at the start of a new song. Damian made sure he seductively flowed with the music. They danced until their legs were worn out.
Damian held her hand as Carina said, "Where to now."
"I want you to meet Beauty," Damian responded as they stepped out of the club.
Glaring at Damian, Carina pulled his hand away, stopping near the yacht. "Who is Beauty? If you don't tell me this moment I will leave here." She said.
Carina caught a smile on his face. "Are you jealous?" Damian asked.
"What are you saying... I thought we -"
Damian placed his hand around her waist and said, "Look at Beauty." He pointed.
Carina laughed at herself for thinking that Beauty might be his girlfriend, wife, or daughter. "The yacht's name is Beauty?" She asked.
"No. I made the name up."
Carina smiled. He got her there. She took his hand and came onboard.
"Is this your first time on a yacht?" Damian asked, stepping on the yacht.
"Definitely. I've always dreamt of being here but I never knew one day a man will make my dream come alive. Where have you been all my life?" Carina said, following him to the belly of the yacht and stepping into the small lounge.
Damian showed off the bedroom, the dining room. "Be my guest. What can I offer you."
"I don't know."
"Do you care for champagne?"
"Which champagne."
"A taste of diamonds."
"You must be kidding. That's like the most expensive champagne in the world. It costs $2.7 million if am not wrong." Carina said, sitting at the small round table, expecting to be blown away.
And there she was, blown away as he pulled up a bottle of a taste of diamonds from under the bench. Carina couldn't believe it, she thought - Is he a billionaire and I don't know. I don't want to be rude by asking him personal questions, but I can't ignore the fact that am staring at an expensive drink without asking him what he does for a living. So she said, "What do you do for a living."
"We will get to know each other very well, soon enough."
"When that day comes, just know I will be throwing you lots of questions."
"Okay let's eat dinner."
Damian went to ride, he revved the engine and turned the wheel. Three hundred feet from the shoreline, he caught the engine, dropping the anchor overboard. He stood looking at Carina who was taken with the feel of the ride. He dazzled at her beauty, he watched as the breeze teased the tip of her hair and a smile broke on her face.
"You're so beautiful," Damian said.
Carina's cheeks flushed red at the compliment. This is what she has ever wanted, her dream has always been to be loved, to live a romantic lifestyle, and to be with a man like Damian who can make her dreams come alive.
On the second day - The time clocked noon. A sweet scent grew heavy in the air, enfolding them, taking them to cloud nine.
They kissed each other slowly, long drugging exchanges that left them both breathless. His breath was so close that Carina could taste him. His breath falls into her mouth, the only air she has. They touched and explored. She liked opening her mouth against his. She liked feeling his moan roll, candy round and warm, into her mouth. They murmured approval, pleasure, need and headed to the bedroom.
Damian whispered, "You're the only woman I've ever loved." He pressed his mouth to her neck, tasting. A soft sigh of pleasure slipped from her lips. He peeled away her dress, exploring each secret place he uncovered, delighting in her softness, her warmth.
Carina said, "I cannot live without you. My life has no meaning with you, I can never be with another man except you."
With what she said, Damian was certain that she is truly in love with him. He felt so guilty about leaving.
Carina breathed in the scent of his skin, rich and musky. The feel of his hair against the sensitive flesh on her palm. She loved his breath deepening at the height of arousal.
Damian kissed her once more as he trailed the kisses to her breast. Carina arched into him as his mouth filled her nipple. His suck made her cry out a soft cry of pleasure shuddering past her lips.
"So beautiful," Damian murmured, cupping her breasts, lifting them for his mouth.
Carina squeezed her eyes shut as he kept on fondling her breast. She arched more, higher, she wanted him to increase the contact of his mouth on her breast which she did. She stood on tiptoe, the pleasure she was receiving from him was so high.
Damian's hands came everywhere, molding and caressing.
Carina moaned against his mouth as he roamed his hand up the back of her thigh, then around to the front. She moaned louder as he found her.
Damian took off his clothes and laid carefully on top of her as she laid on the bed. Carina reached between his legs and wrapped her fingers around him. He thrust into her; she anchored herself to the real world of passion that spun her to the ozone and beyond. He thrust again, gently; she dug her fingernails into his back. He thrust more; she caught his mouth.
Her hips wobble as Damian began to push, faster and faster. Carina wished to freeze this moment in time. She loved the scent that smelled like the music box he gave her the other day, and she loved the lovemaking.
Time marched on to afternoon, they had gone back to the riverside. Excitement filled Carina's heart as she sat in the sands, enjoying the cool weather. Damian brought a scrabble game along with him.
"I bet you're going to lose at this game," Damian said.
"You sound confident."
They drew their tile letters as Damian said with a grin, "Ladies first." He picked the letter a and did not doubt that she wouldn't pick the same letter he picked.
"No, I insist you go first." She said, after checking that the letter she picked was z.
"Okay, I'll go first." He said.
Carina was shocked as he played all his first seven words. Instantly, she knew the game would be the most challenging scrabble game she has ever played. It was her turn to play, and she also needed her words to form a complete seven-letter word. She arranged and rearranged. There she got it, she played the word abandon.
It took Damian by surprise seeing the seven-letter word she played. The game got tougher and intense as they kept on battling with words, wanting to defeat themselves with a high score.
The game drew to an end as Carina calculated their scores with her phone. She calculated their score once again for accuracy and still saw the same score, they both of them scored 360.
Damian looked at the sun, the tip of the sun looked so close, it seemed if he stretched his hands he could touch it. Too many clouds in the sky played with it, it rose even more, majestically. "The sun looks beautiful today." He said.
"Yes, it does. I just love to sit here with you and watch it."
Moments later. Damian's lips parted in a smile as he sighted a conch shell in the river. He's been told from childhood that a conch shell is found in the sea and he couldn't believe what his eyes saw. He remembered the sweet sounds it gave when he was little.
Without wasting much time, he showed Carina the conch shell. "I used to blow this when I was little," Damian said.
"I also used to blow it. The shell was interesting and pretty and a worthy plaything."
"Are you thinking the same thing am thinking?"
Carina smiled. They thought of plucking the shell in the river. Near to Damian's elbow, a palm sapling leaned out over the lagoon. The weight was already putting a lump from the poor soil and soon it would fall. He tore out the stem and began to poke about in the water. Damian used one hand as a fulcrum and pressed down with the other till the shell rose, dripping, and Damian could make a grab.
Carina took the shell from Damian and a little water ran down her arm. The shell was deep cream. It was a seventeen inches shell with a slight spiral twist covered with an embossed pattern. Carina shook the sand out of the deep tube.
Carina laid the small end of the shell against her mouth and blew. There came a rushing sound from its mouth but nothing more.
Damian said, "Give it, I'll make it sound better."
Carina tried again, but the shell remained silent so she gave it to him.
"Now, watch me work my magic."
Carina smiled. He has surprised her a lot so she wouldn't be surprised if it worked on his mouth. She watched as he pursed his lips and squirted air into the shell, the sound it emitted made her laugh.
"Trust me, I can make it sound great," Damian said.
"Okay, I trust you," Carina said, smiling.
Damian hit the shell with air from his diaphragm. Immediately the thing sounded with a deep harsh note that spread out through the riverside and the woods.
Carina busted out laughing. Damian held her waist and drew her closer to him. He thought - I always want to see you smile, even when am gone.
Their eyes met. Damian planted a kiss on her lips. He kissed her with tears rolling from his eyes, for their kiss might be the last kiss.
The night weather came with a great chill. They had run out of woods so they hurried down to the woods to fetch some woods to build a fire and keep their bodies warm.
"Are you sure you want to take that?" Carina asked, referring to the wood Damian had cut down. The wood was damply rotten, full of insects that scurried.
"It's dark already and we are cold, this shouldn't matter."
"You're right." She said, directing her torchlight to other woods, seeing the woods they cut down were also highly infested.
They continued working with great energy and cheerfulness. They built a pyramid of leaves and twigs, branches, and logs.
Soon there was a ceiling of smoke and a bush of yellow flame. Carina's phone played romantic songs. They made love. Carina made love with the only man who had ever made her happy.
This one was different, their bodies connected like nothing before, and when he said the words "I love you" they caught one another's cries of pleasure, their bodies grew slick with sweat, unbearably hot with the act of love.
After their lovemaking, Damian wrapped his hands around her and said, "Warm enough."
"Mmm-hmm." Carina smiled sleepily. "Perfect." She continued, "I would love to wake up and still be wrapped in your embrace."
Carina woke up, seeing he wasn't beside her. She called his name, walked around, and felt that he was far away from her.
She smiled and soliloquized, "He must be planning another surprise for me."
She gazed at the horizon and at the most spectacular sunset she'd ever seen. Brilliant pinks and lavenders, fiery reds and oranges, a hint of gold, they transformed the sky into an artist's canvas. She sighed and thought - How could nature be capable of such an incredible feat now Damian isn't here with me.
She waited for him, missing him, aching for him. Every second passed with thoughts of him, ber mind raced down to their lovemaking and the romantic moments they spent together.
For hours Carina didn't see him. She went back to the hotel he booked. "Um... the customer in room 360, do you know where he is?" She asked.
The receptionist checked her book. "Am sorry, he checked out some hours ago."
"Checked out? What are you saying?" Carina said, her face filled with a sudden burst of mixed feelings of sadness, hurt, anger and frustration.
"Yeah. Isn't Damian Michaels his name? He's tall. He left with his luggage."
"No..." Carina screamed. Tears welled up her eyes as she stormed out of the reception hall.
Tears ran down her eyes, blurring her vision. "Damian........" She screamed even louder. Without realizing that she was in the middle of the road.
A car suddenly came at her with great speed. The driver wasted no time and drove off.
Damian left, she had just realized.
"Damian." She whispered with a cough of blood.
