In a dystopian future a woman attempts to flee her violent husband who seems to have an almost supernatural ability to track her. She enlists the help of an enigmatic man and a race of genetically engineered cougars, and with their help makes a perilous journey across much of Europe and into the untamed wilderness of North America.
